Web Team Update - April 2023
SmartWaiver API and SmartWaiver Integration for Events
In the future, we can consider populating some waiver fields for perm registrations.
SmartWaiver went ahead and added native URL parameter support for pre-populating waiver form fields. (1) We could enhance the Drupal code to fill in perm route# for registration, and maybe member’s RUSA#. (2) RBAs could use this to fill in event name, etc., for their waivers.

Grand Randonnée Histories
The first in a series of planned histories of US Grand Randonnées has been published, for Boston-Montreal-Boston, North America’s first 1200k. This can be found under the “Long Brevets” menu drop-down. It’s hoped that current and past organizers and volunteers on other grand randonnées can at least make a start documenting their events. We will be developing a checklist or article structure of topics to cover, just as Wikipedia article types have certain standard structures. Feedback from Randonneurs Quebec …
Physical Award Photos on Awards Detail Pages
We’ve now added photos on the detail pages for most of the awards, thanks to a suggestion from Dan Driscoll. Some images came from the Store. Others had to be produced for these pages. Example: Distance Awards.
Website updates
- Added details to Coast to Coast application to properly show previously claimed grand randonnées.
- Fixed ACPprep export format to match what we've been sending to ACP. Roland's old Python tool should no longer be necessary.
- Implemented UAFprep result export function.
- Implemented a special NOT_NULL value for querying gdbm2json.
- Drupal updates for perms - including not requiring filtering by state when searching for perm routes; time calculations now match correctly for different distances; unpaved distance for perms.
- Preparing to display PBP in individual member results. This change is available for preview in the dev environment. The background for these results is a light gray to distinguish them from domestic results. The events will not contribute to yearly/total distances, or to ACP/RUSA SR designations. Charlie and Dave have been working together since last year to eventually display all foreign RM results in a similar manner.
