Web Team Update - January 2023

Gravel Support for Perms

To refresh: perm riders will get credit for the amount of unpaved distance in the “official” (submitted) route, and 1 minute per unpaved km on that route, regardless of the route the rider actually rode on a given ride. Most of the work has been done on the admin side (e.g., recording how much unpaved distance the submitted perm route has). We believe the next step is to populate enough new and existing routes with unpaved distance, which will be supplied by the route contributors and entered by the Permanents Committee. The Committee and Board can then decide when to launch this feature, at which time the Web Team will activate saving unpaved distance with perm ride results.

Also, time validation needs to be implemented.

UAFPrep can now be numbered

Paul Rozelle needs to describe submission formats (including how to denote captain). We will list the UAF awards on the Awards main page, and look at UAF website for awards to find out about them. Currently, members can buy UAF brevet medals in the RUSA Store.

Permanent Route Collection Maps

Jake will be enhancing his tool for finding nearby permanent routes to look for cues en route that are nearby (including finish for point-to-point) rather than just the start location.

ACP Events with 0 Finishers

Finished changing the results processing workflow and added highlighting in the results processing status page so that it’s clear some ACP processing needs to be done when there were no starters or no finishers for an ACP event.

Home Page:

“Recent” Grand Randonnées on Home Page

The Grand Randonnées from 2023 and 2022 are currently displayed on the RUSA home page. The latter so that members can easily find results, etc., from last year’s events. These will be removed as the date of the first 2023 Grand Randonnée approaches (March).

We will be soliciting the following from RBAs …

BRM 600k’s with 8000m Climbing

These for credit towards the ACP Randonneur 10000 award.

Brevet Weeks

Two are already listed on the home page.

Board and Committee History

Will be updating Board and Committee history in the course of the month, as usual.

New Web Team Member - Jason Hartfield

Jason joined our team in December, and has already been set up and assigned his first of several tasks. Thanks to Dan for recruiting Jason!

Trouble Getting to Brevet Starts

Some of the Web Team has been hampered by the deluge and devastation in Northern California from getting to brevet starts organized by another Web Team member, or riding at all.

Respectfully submitted,

- lois, charlie, man-far, and john lee for the Web Team
