March 13, 2024


 

  1. Call to order: The meeting on March 13, 2024 was called to order at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, over Zoom.  The following members were present.
    1. Bill Bryant
    2. Dawn Piech
    3. Charlie Martin
    4. Rob Hawks
    5. Vinny Muoneke
    6. Gardner Duvall
    7. Dave Thompson

      Also present was invited guest Phil Fox, the chair of the newly created Marketing Committee. Phil was excused after his presentation.
       

  2. Guest Phil Fox spoke to the Board about plans for the Marketing Committee.

  3. Minutes: The minutes for the January 2024 meetings were approved.

  4. The Treasurer submitted a written report.

  5. Gardner Duvall reported that the Financial Audit Committee had not convened in March.

  6. The Board had previously approved by email the appointment of Andrei Fluerasu for the NY:Long Island region. That email vote was affirmed.

  7. The RBA Liaison reported on the onboarding of new RBAs. There was a discussion about an ACP representative announcing that ACP events between November 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023 would not qualify for a 2024 ACP Super Randonneur Series, and what RUSA's next steps would be. There was a discussion about RBA involvement in marketing randonneuring.

  8. The Website Committee submitted a written report. There was a discussion about a server upgrade.  There was a discussion about member privacy and the public accessibility of information from the website. RUSA is in compliance with its current policy, but the Board decided to revisit the policy and evaluate whether it is what best serves the membership. There was a discussion about the security of the website. The addition of a potential web team member was discussed.

  9. The Board resolved the process to complete goal-setting for 2024.

  10. Dawn provided a Communication Report to share details of the status of the March Between Controls. Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. For Between Controls, 2,594 sends, 83% open rate with a 21% click rate. Between Controls will continue to have a quarterly region highlight again in April, July and October. Mary Gersema (#2965) has joined the Between Control committee to which now includes Dawn, Mary Gersema and Greg Merritt. Instagram continues to grow, we can look to increase our posts to assist with engagement of our membership as well as both internal and external marketing initiatives.  Dawn will have a call with our several members to discuss ideas to continue to expand and grow our Instagram presence in mid-late April.

  11. The next meeting was set for April 10, 2024
