  1. Possible Domestic Super Randonnee (SR) Program

The board decided against a domestic RUSA SR600 program. The committee thought it best to let the ACP build up their program slowly in their own way. RUSA can look at the issue again next year.

  2. Rule Change for Permanent Waivers

The board voted to modify the rules for permanents to specify that "The rider must provide a newly signed and dated Waiver of Liability form each time he/she registers to ride a permanent." The board also confirmed the policy that signed and scanned waivers are OK, but electronic signatures are not.

  3. Reflective Gear

The board discussed a possible rule change to eliminate the option to use Sam Browne belts to satisfy the requirement for upper-body reflective since they seem to be much less visible than reflective vests. Possible specification of a U.S. or international reflectivity standard was also discussed.

  4. Permanent Start Location Options

The board approved changes to the permanent rules and frequently asked questions clarifying the options for start location and direction. If the route starts and finishes in the same location (loop or out-and-back), and the route is designated as "reversible," a rider may ride the route in either direction but must still start at the specified start location. If the route is point-to-point (e.g., starts at point A, finishes at point B), and the route is designated as "reversible," a rider may start either at point A or point B.

  5. K-Hound Award

The board discussed the possibility of RUSA taking over administration of the K-Hound award from Dan Driscoll and Lone Star Randonneurs.
