  1. RUSA 2011 Officer Selection.

    The Board approved a slate of RUSA executive officers for 2011, consisting of: Lois Springsteen as President; Jennifer Wise as Vice President; Edward Robinson as Secretary; and Eric Vigoren as Treasurer.

  2. American Randonneur Award.

    Having considered several deserving nominees, the Board selected Don Hamilton as recipient of the 2010 American Randonneur Award. The Board expressed its gratitude for Don's many years of dedicated service in support of RUSA and the sport of randonneuring. The Board noted, in particular, Don's substantial and much-appreciated efforts as RUSA's longstanding and hard-working membership coordinator.

  3. PBP Jersey Design Contest.

    The Board considered the wide variety of jersey designs that were submitted in the PBP Jersey Design Contest. After considering the various design submissions, the Board ultimately selected a design proposed by Mark Thomas, with additional suggestions as to certain aspects of the proposed jersey's final appearance. The final design adopted the current RUSA jersey, with the addition of PBP-related decorative details.

  4. PBP Quota Announcement.

    The Board took up the topic of the ACP's recent announcement of its various country quotas for PBP 2011. With the benefit of a breakdown of current and historical PBP attendance figures and quotas provided by Mark Thomas, the Board discussed the quota figures and considered, among other matters, how the ACP would address expected attrition among riders who registered but were unable to attend. The Board likewise discussed key elements of the registration system for the upcoming event, under which riders will register directly with the ACP. Lois agreed to work on a RUSA announcement regarding the ACP's newly-released PBP quota information.

  5. RBA Reimbursement Program.

    The Board approved RUSA's ongoing annual RBA Reimbursement Program. The Board members agreed that the program offered an affordable and meaningful way to reimburse interested RBAs for costs incurred in supporting and promoting the sport of randonneuring.

  6. Showers Pass Rain Jackets.

    The Board received an update from Cecil Reniche-Smith regarding the ongoing offer for RUSA-logo Showers Pass rain jackets. Cecil noted that orders coming in regularly, and she advised the Board on current best estimates for final delivery of ordered jackets.

  7. Meeting Schedule for 2011.

    The Board adopted a more aggressive, monthly meeting schedule for 2011, with a particular goal of promptly addressing any PBP-related concerns.
