  1. Condolences Regarding Death of Steve Barbour. Lois Springsteen expressed her sadness regarding the tragic accident recently suffered by RUSA member Steve Barbour. All those in attendance concurred.
  2. PBP 2011 Quota Management. Pending further information from the ACP on the matter of Paris-Brest-Paris rider registration quotas, the Board concluded that the best, safest approach for the near term was to encourage RBAs to schedule a reasonable selection of ACP brevets in 2010, including 1000K events among RBAs interested in holding rides of that distance. The Board members reiterated their desire that all RUSA members be able to attend PBP in 2011, among those who wish to do so.
  3. Committee Reports. The Board received updates from representatives of the Rules Committee, Website Committee, Membership Committee, Publications Committee, Awards Committee, and Souvenirs Committee.
  4. Rider Recognition. The Board congratulated RUSA's members who received recognition for contribution to the sport of randonneuring from the ACP in conjunction with the 100,000th homologation of an ACP 300K brevet. The recipients were Don and Phyllis Hamilton, John Lee Ellis, Tim Sullivan and Mark Thomas.
  5. Route Coordinator Replacement. The Board discussed selection of a new Route Coordinator in light of the impending resignation of volunteer Scott Brittle. The Board expressed its appreciation of Scott's hard work and its reluctance to see him go. Potential candidates for route coordinator were discussed, as well as possible organization of a new and expanded route committee.
  6. UAF Event Sanctioning. The Board visited the issue whether RUSA should sanction audax-style events, as proposed by an interested club member. Options were discussed, but absent a specific proposal to pursue at this time, it was agreed that more information would be required before any action could be taken.
