Randonneuring has become an important part of my life, and I am running for the RUSA Board because I want to help strengthen its future. I have volunteered at events throughout Northern California and have served on the RUSA web team and Awards Committee. Those experiences have given me a greater appreciation for the volunteer effort required to support our riders and sustain the organization.

My primary focus is empowering and mobilizing our membership. RUSA’s riders, volunteers, RBAs, and committees are an enormous resource, and I want to help give members practical tools and opportunities to take a more active role in growing and sustaining our community.

Many cyclists who would enjoy randonneuring simply do not know it exists. I would like to support outreach by making it easier for individual members to introduce others to the sport through resources such as flyers, cards, social media materials, and introductory content.

Recruitment is only the beginning. I also want to strengthen how we welcome and support new riders. A friendly introduction, an experienced rider willing to answer questions, or simply knowing that help is available can make the difference between trying one brevet and becoming part of the community.

I also want to explore ways to reduce unnecessary friction in joining RUSA while working with RBAs, committees, and members to understand what changes are sustainable.

Most importantly, I see Board service as service to the membership. I will listen, collaborate, communicate, and work to give members a stronger voice in shaping RUSA’s future.
