Web Team Update - April 2026

Website Content Task Force

  • The website content task force has met twice. Members are Charlie, Lois, Emily O'Brien, and Andrew LaMarche.
  • Emily and Andrew provided mockups for the home and about pages.
  • Lois opened Bugzillas (1250 and 1251) to track those items and encouraged Emily and Andrew to use bugzilla to track our work.
  • We discussed the tracking bugs in the recent web team meeting and decided to use our backup server instance to mockup potential changes and discuss before we implement them on production.
  • Charlie asked Gemini to suggest a new navigation organization. We will review that at some point.
  • Some of the suggestions for the home page rely on slider widgets. There are some publicly available Drupal modules for this which we can try out on the backup server instance.
  • The home page announcements menu now links to past announcements, and the main navigation item has been removed.
  • Next meeting TBD.

Time Calculation Rollout

We are assembling a rollout plan for changes to code and documentation that need to be synchronized, for the uniform calculations of checkpoint opening and closing time across ACP, LRM, RUSA events and RUSA Populaires. (UAF Audax has their own timing scheme.)

Publishing AR Online

We have changed the policy for posting American Randonneurs editions online such that the latest edition will be posted a month after it is mailed.

Recent Bugzilla Issues

Little of significance to report.
