Marketing

  • Merch/Swag

    • Finalize and share new socks by January 
    • Assist with facilitation of graphic design committee by May-June
    • RUSA bandana by April 
    • RUSA Musette bag and/or RUSA Waltz cap by September 
    • New RUSA jersey/kit by August
    • RUSA PBP jersey/kit by December
  • Events

    • Identify Fall Booth by February
    • Philadelphia Bike Exposition booth in March
    • New booth and table display by March 
    • Booth at designated west coast event in Fall
    • Identify 2027 booth/expositions by August-September 
    • Discuss possibility of working with regions on hosting a Rouleur Week in November 2026, January, February and March of 2027
  • Committee

    • Add 2-3 more members to the committee by October 
    • Identify chairperson/co-chairperson by November
  • Outreach

    • Improve Instagram process and create Social Media subteam by x date
    • Work with web team on making revision to the mainpage photo in the background by December
    • Develop a plan for an official RUSA Strava club. Establish club by December if applicable.
    • Develop and put together an easy submission process for members to submit photos/videos for use in Instagram, Facebook, YouTube by May

Membership Growth

  • Explore incentives as a way to grow membership

    • Financial assistance for regions
    • “Bring a friend on a ride” for members
    • Include a method of measuring effectiveness
  • Investigate the possibility of a “Gift a Membership Coupon” for members/RBA’s by August
  • Survey members who do not renew, aiming to reduce turnover

Rules and Procedures

  • Incorporate worker post-rides
  • Align Submission Requirements for Event Routes and Perms, where possible
  • Create separate Audax rulesets for Organizers and Riders aligned with RUSA rule norms: with input from the Audax Committee
  • Time Limits - Link from Rules for Riders, Rules for Organizers, RBA Procedures, and Rules for Permanent Riders to a common page documenting time limits (when Web Team completes calc changes)
  • Climbing - Incorporate rules and procedures for climbing credit

Communication/Engagement

  • Standardize announcements process throughout all avenues which include website, Google Groups, Facebook groups, Instagram, YouTube, American Randonneur, Between Controls, etc… by October 
  • Increase growth of Instagram followers from 4,109 to 5000 by December
  • Increase growth of YouTube followers from 1,620 to 2000 by December
  • Obtain a 1x open rate of Between Controls to 85% by December 
  • Do volunteer outreach - communicating desire for more volunteers via BC and AR and working to add volunteers to all committees

Internal Organization

  • Document process for call for nominations, election and sharing results of election by September
  • Review and update the new member / renewal letter with Membership Team by December
  • Develop onboarding document and streamline process for this for new BOD members as well as outgoing BOD members by December
  • Update Privacy Policy especially in light of Gender Data changes
  • Migrate RUSA Shared Documents to Randonneurs USA shared drive

Event Registration Support and Insurance

  • Continue to encourage collaboration among regions for sharing of tools

    • Plans for 2026 include hosting two or three RBA roundtables with each roundtable narrowly focused on a specific aspect of the RBA roles, responsibilities and/or ongoing tasks.
  • Continue migration to Smartwaiver

Awards

  • Update and award 2026 Volunteer patches
  • C2C - Incorporate into 1200K application
  • Climbing - Define and roll out yearly/lifetime volume awards
  • Roll out Ultra Distance awards
  • Gravel distance - Roll out tiered awardee listings
  • American Explorer - Launch interactive map, add icons to trophy case, support award record cleanup efforts

  • Server upgrade

    • Upgrade to Debian 13, Drupal 11, PHP 8.4
    • Mitigate bot traffic
  • Foreign Results - Establish processes, tooling, and volunteer resources to manage foreign results on an ongoing basis
  • Authentication and Membership Workflows

    • Resolve duplicate membership orders and member change requests
    • Address member signup workflow feedback from Philly Bike Expo
    • Only allow RUSA # as login identifier
    • Decouple Address Change and Membership Renewal workflows
    • Move Address Change workflow behind authentication
    • Add infrastructure for user preferences and privacy settings
    • Add remaining gender option
  • Roll out Time Calculation Updates

    • Upgrade Google Analytics infrastructure
    • Processes for instrumenting inbound traffic with UTMs
    • Solicit "How did you hear about RUSA?" data during signup workflow. Also survey existing membership to backfill what we can.
