ACP centenary result row icons

Charlie reports that, “A few people have requested special icons for ACP centenary events. Dan can provide icons as usual, but in order to implement this we will need logic that can identify which events correspond to these centenary events.” This means looking for all ACP brevets on our calendar scheduled for the centenary dates and of the proper distance (e.g., all ACP 400k’s scheduled for 7/22/2023).

Clarity in applying for and purchasing Awards

We’re working with Dave Thompson who’s observed that some folks are confused or unclear about which awards need applying for (to be listed as an awardee or to purchase the physical award), which physical awards can just be purchased if you’re qualified (e.g., brevet medals), and differences between what shows up in the results trophy case vs. extra steps needed to purchase a medal (e.g., Super Randonneur status vs. Super Randonneur medal).

As a preliminary step, we’ve streamlined the main Awards page to make it clearer what your options are. We’ll continue to work with Dave on this.

Elevation Recognition

Charlie is looking at elevation recognition for perm rides and events. This could look a lot like unpaved credit for the Gravel initiative. For perms, that might mean taking the elevation gain of the default route (as we do for unpaved credit), even though perms are Free Route. Also, for both perms and brevets that are point-to-point, we’d need to know in which direction the route was ridden. (Something for the perm rider or RBA, respectively, to input at Results time.)
