Bad Links on Website - Man-Fai and Lois Investigate

After a Bugzilla report about a defunct link (to Voler’s gallery for RUSA attire, no longer active), Man-Fai found a tool to detect erroneous links, and came up with a list. For example, some announcements refer to topical items or activities valid only for a particular time period. Interestingly, some are in our list of US Grand Randonnées for events that are still being organized, but where organizers created new domains for successive editions of the event, and then discarded previous ones. (In cases like that, we’ll probably just point to the region’s home page.) Lois is currently working on the defunct links.

Charlie’s Corner

  • Implemented RUSA 25th anniversary trophy case icon and logic.
  • Event search by state now shows events calendared for regions within that state if no route is assigned. This also includes team events.
  • Membership renewal workflow makes it less tempting for users to fiddle with the contact info fields if they don't actually have a meaningful change to make. Currently in dev, awaiting feedback.
  • PBP is displayed in member ride results.
  • Ultra Flèche award application page implemented.
  • Logging and analyzing event search behavior to evaluate whether the current default sorting is appropriate.
  • Arrow results submission no longer uses "Dart" terminology.

Unpaved Distances for Perm Routes

The Web Team plans to roll out its support for credit and extra time allowance for unpaved perm distances as soon as a fair number [critical mass?] of perm routes have been populated with unpaved distance values. Dave Thompson, as chair of the Perms Committee, has come up with a phased plan to do this, starting with existing perm routes in one regional locale and moving out from there (to larger geographies and eventually to new routes).
