ATTENDEES (b=board member): Mike Dayton, John Lee Ellis (b), Don Hamilton, James Kuehn, Cecil Reniche-Smith (b), Lois Springsteen (b), Mark Thomas (b), Eric Vigoren (b), and Jennifer Wise (b)

  1. Online Results Interface and Electronic Results Publication.

Mark Thomas and James Kuehn received thanks for their work in implementing enhancements to RUSA's online results search interface, and further making available an electronic results publication in lieu of the annual printed version. The Board agreed that the electronic results publication, in addition to reducing costs and saving resources, would make new information available to members and support the organization's historical record-keeping.

  2. PBP Communications and Planning.

The Board noted that ongoing PBP registration was slowing, so that concerns over RUSA's country quota might turn out to be less of an issue than was expected. It appeared that there would be ample slots available even for new RUSA members, who may not have had an opportunity to complete brevets in 2010.

John Lee Ellis observed that a PBP planning spreadsheet, created by a RUSA volunteer, was now well-developed, and the Board approved the addition of the spreadsheet to RUSA's PBP wiki site.

  3. Online Membership Renewal System.

Membership Committee Chair Don Hamilton and Mr. Kuehn addressed the ongoing development of RUSA's online membership registration and renewal system. Significant progress had been made, and preliminary testing of certain functions was underway. Mr. Kuehn and Don also responded to questions from the Board about the status of plans to allow members to update their membership information online. That function continued under development.

  4. Committee and Director Reports.

On behalf of the Rules Committee, John Lee Ellis discussed additional changes planned for RUSA's team event rules to embellish information added in recent rules updates.

Newsletter Editor Mike Dayton reported about material for inclusion in the upcoming pre-PBP edition of the American Randonneur newsletter, and various sorts of possible content was discussed among the Board.

Jennifer Wise, as manager of the RUSA Store, noted that the bicycle nameplate project was ready to go forward now that best cost estimates had been obtained. Jennifer planned to have nameplates ready for distribution in France to all RUSA members who attended PBP.
